Your money. Your privacy.

Privacy Policy

AbunDoh is designed around a local-first approach to budgeting. This Privacy Policy explains what information the AbunDoh app handles, where that information is stored, and the choices you have over your data.

Last updated: October 3, 2026

The short version

Your budgeting information is stored primarily on your device. AbunDoh does not currently require an account, does not operate a remote Household service, and does not automatically upload your financial records to an AbunDoh server. You decide what you enter, what you share within Household features, and whether you create an encrypted backup.

1. Information you enter into AbunDoh

AbunDoh allows you to enter information to help manage your budget. Depending on the features you use, this may include:

  • Income amounts and pay schedules
  • Bills and recurring bill information
  • Spending transactions
  • Savings goals and contributions
  • Pay-cycle information
  • Household member names and locally entered income information
  • Household sharing and funding preferences
  • Notification preferences
  • App appearance and other settings

This information is used by the app to provide budgeting features such as Safe to Spend, pay-cycle calculations, bill planning, savings tracking, Household views, and your Timeline.

2. Local-first storage

AbunDoh is currently designed as a local-first application. Budgeting information you create in the app is stored on your device.

AbunDoh does not currently require you to create an AbunDoh account, and the current version does not automatically send your budgeting records to an AbunDoh cloud service.

Because your information is primarily stored locally, losing, resetting, clearing, or replacing your device may result in loss of your data unless you have created a backup.

3. Household features

AbunDoh includes Household features that allow financial information to be marked as either private or shared within the Household experience.

The current Household system is local to the device. Adding another Household member does not create a remote account for that person and does not automatically send information to another device.

You control whether supported financial information is marked private or shared. Historical records may preserve the privacy, ownership, or funding information that applied when those records were created so that past financial history remains accurate.

4. Backup and restore

AbunDoh allows you to create a manual encrypted backup of supported app data.

When a backup is created, AbunDoh generates a recovery key. The recovery key is required to restore the encrypted backup and is not stored inside the backup file.

AbunDoh cannot recover a lost recovery key for you.

You choose where to save or copy your backup file. If you choose to store that file with another company or service, such as a cloud-storage provider, that provider may process the file according to its own privacy policy and terms.

AbunDoh does not currently maintain a separate server copy of your manual backup.

5. Notifications

If you allow notifications, AbunDoh may schedule notifications on your device for supported budgeting reminders, such as variable bill reminders.

Notification preferences are controlled through the app and your device operating system. You can disable notifications at any time through those settings.

AbunDoh is designed to limit sensitive information in notifications where displaying detailed financial information could reveal another Household member’s private information.

6. Permissions and device features

Certain AbunDoh features may require access to device features provided by your operating system.

These may include:

  • Notification permission so AbunDoh can display supported reminders
  • File or document selection interfaces when you choose to export or import a backup

Your device operating system controls these permissions, and you may change them through your device settings.

7. Information we do not currently collect

In the current version of AbunDoh, we do not operate a service that collects your budgeting records into an AbunDoh user account.

AbunDoh does not currently use your budgeting information for:

  • Advertising
  • Selling personal information
  • Building advertising profiles
  • Remote Household synchronization
  • AI financial analysis

If future versions introduce cloud services, account systems, analytics, AI features, billing systems, or remote Household synchronization, this Privacy Policy will be updated to explain those changes before or when those features are made available.

8. App stores and operating systems

AbunDoh may be distributed through third-party platforms such as Google Play or the Apple App Store.

Those companies may independently process information relating to app downloads, purchases, device information, diagnostics, or your store account under their own privacy policies. That processing is controlled by those platforms rather than by AbunDoh.

9. Data retention and deletion

Because AbunDoh currently stores budgeting data locally, your information generally remains on your device until you delete it through supported app features, clear the app's local storage, or uninstall the app.

Backup files you have created remain wherever you chose to save them until you delete those files yourself.

Deleting information from the app does not automatically delete separate backup files you previously created.

10. Security

AbunDoh is designed to reduce unnecessary collection of financial information by keeping core budgeting data on the device.

Manual backup files are encrypted and require the associated recovery key to restore.

No software or storage method can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting access to your device, recovery keys, and any backup files you create.

11. Children's privacy

AbunDoh is a personal budgeting application and is not designed specifically for children.

The current app does not require an AbunDoh online account and does not knowingly operate a service intended to collect children's personal information.

12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

AbunDoh may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes or new features are introduced.

When the policy is updated, the revised version will be published on this page and the “Last updated” date will be changed.
